FYI, here is a rewrite of my MSFT update that is geared to an audience of non-subscribers
– Posted in: NotificationsActionable Trade-Alert from Rick in the Trading Room (Please check all related discussion in the room before you do any trades.)Is Microsoft's Plunge Mr. Market's TellIs it possible my recent decision to resurrect Microsoft as our #1 global bellwether caught a very important top? We could know soon. I had put the stock on the back burner because it spent most of 2024 carving out an unremarkable head-and-shoulders pattern. Now it would appear that MSFT's lackluster performance may have been warning of a quiet but massive distribution by portfolio managers. I started to doubt this last week when the stock's manic upthrust over several days threatened to turn the H&S pattern into a bullish consolidation. Another $2-$3 higher and that is what would have happened. Instead, with today's hellish dive, the bearish perfection of the year-long pattern and its incipient threat of disaster were restored in mere hours. The plunge was nastier than we might have expected, especially considering the software giant's revenue stream from recurring subscriptions is practically bomb-proof. And yet, the stock fell 3.76%, trailing only Amazon and Tesla in the megastock loser's column. The latter's share price is so bloated with Musk-worship in a fatally saturated EV market that TSLA seems destined to become the best short in the lunatic sector (aka 'Magnificent Seven') as the bear market runs its course. I'd warned in the current 'Morning Line' (see above) that Mr Market might throw the kill switch at the height of Santa season, the better to crush the multitudes who evidently fear an ugly surprise, if one materializes, early in the new year. If Wednesday's selling picks up tempo into week's end, we'll have our answer: a Christmas bloodbath for investors. How very clever it would be for Mr Market to disguise the onset of an
Concerning Bitcoin and Hidden Pivots
– Posted in: NotificationsActionable Trade-Alert from Rick in the Trading Room (Please check all related discussion in the room before you do any trades.)Okay, so I think Bitcoin is a hoax that will end badly. Even so, my swing forecasts and trade recommendations are as consistently accurate and profitable as any you are likely to find online. This one was posted in the chat room Tuesday morning (see first attachment). RA Virus-free.www.avg.com
Important update for December Gold
– Posted in: NotificationsActionable Trade-Alert from Rick in the Trading Room (Please check all related discussion in the room before you do any trades.)[Not all of you have checked 'Notifications' on your account dashboards, so I am manually sending out this important update to all subscribers. RA] $GCZ24 – December Gold (Last:2621.60)Sunday, November 10, 5:15 pm EST 0Gold futures have taken a nasty hit since topping on October 30 within 1.60 of a well-advertised Hidden Pivot target of mine at 2803.40. Even so, the downdraft has yet to generate an impulse leg on the daily chart by exceeding two prior lows. That would occur with a print at 2618.70, but even then, its putative power could be diminished if the bounce from Thursday's low gets a little more loft. We'll give bulls the benefit of the doubt as the new week begins by assuming a 'mechanical' buy at the red line produces a big winner. The target would be 2940.10 (see inset), and the initial stop-loss would be at 2546.70. Please note that the trade has yet to trigger, since the selloff has gone no lower than 2650.30. Paper-trade this one only if your Hidden Pivot chops are up to snuff. _______ UPDATE (Nov 11, 12:08 p.m.): This morning's avalanche brought the futures down to the red line, so I'll suggest using a $17 trigger interval to get long. This is bigger than I would prefer, but it will diminish the chance of a false signal. With a so-far low of 2619.20, the 'buy' signal would occur on a 2636.20 print. Your first profit-taking objective would be at p=2653.20, where d=2687.20 (60-min, a=2650.30 on 11/6). This is a paper trade for all but the most intrepid Pivoteers. I am mainly interested in determining whether bullion has topped for the long term. The trade set-up I am suggesting is a

An important note from the chat room concerning the supposedly no-brainer AAPL calendar spread
– Posted in: NotificationsActionable Trade-Alert from Rick in the Trading Room (Please check all related discussion in the room before you do any trades.)20:29 RickHow many of you did the AAPL call calendar spread: Buy Oct 4 202.50 calls/sell Sep 20 202.50 calls for a 1.30 debit? If so, I would suggest exiting it this morning, on a spread order, for 1.00, with 0.10 discretion. The spread closed at 1.00 today, and although it's still possible to make money on the position, even if the stock goes higher, I'd rather not subject you to early-assignment risk; or try to postpone it by rolling the short Sep 20 calls to Sep 27. It was a lousy position to begin with, inferior to simply buying the 202.50 put calendar spread for cheap, as Entisas and Baplg figured out. If you exit with a loss, please report it in the chat room so that I'll have a better idea how much interestt my option recommendations are attracting. Virus-free.www.avg.com
An option spread in AAPL that even beginners cam do
– Posted in: NotificationsActionable Trade-Alert from Rick in the Trading Room (Please check all related discussion in the room before you do any trades.)12:31 RickWith expectations of AAPL falling to 203.43 over the next 4-6 days (see my 11:30 post), here's an option spread that even beginners can do with very low risk: Bid 1.30 for the 4 Oct / 20 Sep 202.50 call spread, day order. This is a good opportunity to observe how these spreads work. I will advise if the stock drops below 202.50, since that would expose you to the exercise of the Sep calls you are short. Expert traders can attempt to leg into the spread for less, but this will be difficulty because the calls are deep in the money and don't trade in quantity. Virus-free.www.avg.com

I hope you followed my simple recommendation…
– Posted in: NotificationsActionable Trade-Alert from Rick in the Trading Room (Please check all related discussion in the room before you do any trades.)...to buy QQQ calls this morning for 0.44 that later went to 12.86, It was geared especially for beginners who have never made a profit on an option trade. The chart tells the story: The options precisely telegraphed QQQs ferocious bounce after the index got sold down hard in the first hour . I post informal trades like this one in the chat room from time to time and would estimate that 95% of them have been profitable. (Note to subscribers who frequent the chat room: Please do correct me if you think I've exaggerated even slightly.) I disseminate the trade recommendations simultaneously via email to paying subscribers who have checked the 'Notifications' box on their account dashboards. Eventually, I plan to divulge the secret behind this trick, as well as to a few other tricks designed to produce steady income with risk very tightly controlled. If I offer a course on this radical new approach to trading options, it will likely be on the same basis as the one on 'Advanced Tactics of the Hidden Pivot Method" given a couple of summers ago. That course was not marketed, but it was made available for a short time to subscribers who have been with me for a while. The course was geared to futures trading and featured some proprietary adaptations of the Hidden Pivot Method. I have not offered it since, although it is available on request to qualified subscribers for $1,400.
