In yesterday’s commentary I underestimated the threat posed by the conviction of two close former associates of Trump. With Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort going down in flames on the same day, it looked like a wet dream-scenario for the tens of millions of Americans who not only wish Trump ill, but who have been praying for his impeachment since Election Day. Trump-haters may get their wish if Democrats take control of the House in November, since that would likely be their first order of business. They would be impelled not only by their acute dislike of Trump, but by the urgent need to push him out of office before he gets a chance to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the Supreme Court’s most likely next retiree, with a conservative jurist. Between now and mid-term elections in November, Trump will be under great pressure to explain himself each day as he is barraged with questions from the press and his many detractors on Capitol Hill. This cannot but weigh on the bull market, even one seemingly as inured to bad news as this one. If Trump is hounded out of office, it will be as bad for investors as the post-election rally was good for them.
Bulls Haven’t Imagined Trump on His Heels

Rick – I thought you gave Nostradamus the boot?
&&&&&&
I have no clue what you’re talking about, but I’ll say nonetheless that Nostradamian prophecy is only as good as the person interpreting it. I am fortunate to know someone who has studied Nostradamus for most of his adult life and whose interpretations are much more finely nuanced and closely reasoned than what we are used to hearing. It ain’t pretty, either: two more world wars, a global die-off of humanity due to starvation and disease, some catastrophic seismic events, etcetera. RA -

Lets not mention how guilty Trump is. no this is the GOP. Anything goes. Wait till the real issue on Russia gest handled. you have not seen anything yet. the mountains of hard evidence calling into question treason will hit the GOP like a brick wall. As for the market we are RIGHT NOW about to hit a wall. next 3 trading days will be hard down. 2805 is my first target on SPX. News: EU dared to give Iran money to offset the US sanctions. Watch the wrath of god do his worse. Over weekend we will know. Unhinged and about to be labeled a traitor means dangerous times ahead. Forget trade war, he will go after a real war. BTW I predicted everything coming to pass on day ONE of his inauguration. We are in the 9th inning.

Whatever, Gary. RA -

The most amazing thing to me is that ZB just sits there!
I remember back in Easy Al days ZB was extremely volatile when any market news hit.
Giant spikes and giant plunges were routine all day long.
$2,000 whipsaws in seconds were not uncommon.
Now, with Nuclear Combat with Russia just around the corner, giant deficits the norm, and Impeachment on the agenda, ZB just sits there.
A 20 tick move is a big deal!
All I can figure is that market is kept on a very short leash with a choke chain collar to boot!
Puzzling!&&&&
The halfwits who move the markets care only about AMZN, John. They can’t breathe and chew gum at the same time, and having to think about T-bonds might cause their tiny brains to overheat. RA -

Tuesday, September 4——-Think as any leader would to avoid, distract, and do just what you need to do at that important time frame of trouble. Then ask yourself, would Trump do so?
Have a great day tomorrow Rick.
